1. get an electric fan(s)
be sure the fan(s) will meet your needs that is a "push" or "pull". mine are
two ac condenser fans welded together. as long as the fan(s) you are not adjustable speed this will work for you.
2. find the relay(s) and temp switch
if you are going to use one fan one relay is fine. for two fans you'll need two relays (1 per fan) you can buy a bosch spdt (single pull double throw) relay
from just about any parts store for about $5. or you could get a used nissan
headlight relay for about $2 at a wrecking yard. the temp switch is made my hayden inc. you can find them at any parts store for about $20 (3652 is the kit number)
3. mount the temp switch
just find a suitable location and secure it. it only has two connections that need to be made the one marked "c" will be the +12v from the relay and the other will be the ground. the temp probe will need to be placed near the upper radiator hose.
4. wiring the relay(s)
1. +12v from ignition (15amp)-here i used the ac wiring since i don't have ac
2. +12v to "c" on temp switch
3. +12v from battery (15amp)
4. not used
5. to + on fan(s)
5. try it out
you should set the switch to the lowest setting and make sure the fan(s) turn on. if this is so turn the switch to the next setting. the fan(s) should turn off now and come on in a few minuets. if they do you did it right.
if you have any questions just ask and i'll do my best to answer them.
